Kim Deleu’s exhibit “Where’d you get that at?” is on now and runs until May 20th.
It is not very often that an artist will come along who evokes such a strong impression that it is impossible to not keep repeating “and how did we not know about you before?” Which is exactly what we kept muttering to ourselves while sifting through Halifax artist Kim Deleu’s portfolio. There was an immediate attraction to her style; the playfulness that is (in part) absurd, the bold simplicity of a singular object or idea rendered in floating space. You know that there is no other motive apart from the object (and viewer) just being.
Kim Deleu attended NSCAD for 3 years, studying painting and printmaking, and has exhibited with ( ( ( Parentheses ) ) ) as part of the Misfits show in the summer of 2013 and most recently in the $100 group show this past winter. We are very pleased to be able to offer an expanded view of her unique view of the world we live in.
